Two things came to our minds: Is American Idol scripted after all or Paula is on crack? She claims though it was confusing. The sudden change of format by the producer led her to confusion.
The top five finalists were made to sing two Neil Diamond songs. After they sang their first songs, host Ryan Seacrest suddenly asked for the judges' quick comments on the performance, even though he announced earlier that the critique will be done only after the second songs. When it was her turn, Paula gave comments to Idol Jason Castro for his two songs, when he had just sang his first. Simon quickly took over to avoid further embarassment. It was funny and embarrasing probably leaving a question of credibility on American Idol. Or maybe just the credibility of Paula Abdul!
